If Porsche brings a new vehicle to market, it’s because they know it will be a success. Nothing is ever rushed and there’s a lot of planning, thought, and development that goes into every Porsche model. The 2020 Porsche Cayenne Coupe is the perfect example. Unveiled last month, the new Porsche Cayenne Coupe is the latest Porsche model to arrive on the market and immediately you can tell how much effort went into its conception.
The Porsche Cayenne Coupe is a four-door SUV coupe. It’s essentially a Porsche Cayenne with a sleeker profile, a sportier look, and different versions and trims. We haven’t gotten behind the wheel yet, but we can anticipate that it will drive like it looks. In other words, it will have the comfort and refinement of the Porsche Cayenne, but with a little bit more spice. It should prove to be slightly sportier and slightly nimbler. It will likely feel smaller in your hands as well.
Two Versions of the 2020 Porsche Cayenne Coupe to Start
The 2020 Porsche Cayenne Coupe starts at $86,400 and is powered by a turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine with 335 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. This engine unleashes its torque at just 1,340 RPM which means the driver always has access to a ton of power in any situation. Power is sent to all four wheels through an 8-speed automatic Tiptronic S gearbox.
The other option to start off the 2020 Porsche Cayenne Coupe run is the Porsche Cayenne Turbo Coupe available starting at $148,000. A bi-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine delivers 541 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque which gets the Cayenne Turbo Coupe to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds. Top speed is rated at 286 km/h.......maybe one day it will be 420 km/h.
Both the Cayenne Coupe and Cayenne Turbo Coupe can tow 3,500 kg and offer 625 liters of cargo space. That’s less than the current traditional Cayenne by about 80 liters which isn’t a huge difference considering how differently both models look.
With the 2020 Porsche Cayenne Coupe, Porsche is offering buyers two mid-sized sport utility vehicle options. If you don’t need the slightly larger interior dimensions of the conventional Cayenne, you can opt for the Cayenne Coupe and get the same level of comfort with a more discerning and unique design that will turn even more heads on the road.
